Do you walk by faith? They do...
This past week I was able to meet a couple that gives true meaning to the term “walking by faith.” They are Chris and Rachel Embler of Smithfield, NC. The Lord has called them to walk to Peru. Has your jaw dropped open yet? Get this. They’ve left rental properties that they owned. They’ve left good jobs as teachers. They’ve sold their home. They’ve basically walked away from every creature comfort and strapped all they have on their backs.
They came to Lexington, NC which is very close to where I am currently (Thomasville, NC). As they walk they’re sharing the Gospel and encouraging believers. Their stop in Lexington brought them to Heath Church. You may recall that this is where I spoke not too long ago for “Youth Week 2006.”
They were given the opportunity to share the passions God has given them with the young people of Heath church on a Wednesday night. It was awesome to say the least. I was encouraged. Valerie was encouraged. Just about everybody was encouraged. It was a great night.
They stayed until at least Sunday (October 8th). I don’t know where they are now...besides firmly within God’s will.
