So I stood that day looking out at the empty seats at QualComm... I’m sure I’d have no idea where the Lord would take me. I was a relatively new Christian and I still had so many selfish aspirations...not that I don’t have any now.
Looking back it’s amazing. I’ve seen my mother come to Christ. I’ve seen my brother radically transformed by Christ after his own issues in life. I’ve seen my father come to Christ as well. I’ve been blessed to teach the word and preach the gospel in a couple different venues.
I just got back from my first out of state speaking engagement...and there’s an even more engaging engagement that is brewing in that arena. I’ve been blessed to be able to produce radio programs for churches and ministries and even my own...which this site is concerning.
As you may or may not know...I stepped down as production director of a Christian radio station in the L.A. market, KWVE 107.9 FM, about two months ago. Since then the Lord has really been revolutionizing my life. He allowed me to finish the book of Revelation at our Sunday night study at Living Water recently as well. And of course...the most exciting news of all is that He’s introduced me to the love of my life...Valerie.
Literally 11 hours or so ago I stepped of a plane at John Wayne airport. I had just gotten home from North Carolina where I had taught the Word and preached the Gospel 3 times at Heath Church in Lexington. The mp3 downloads should be available pretty soon for those studies.
What’s also intriguing about this trip is that the Lord used it to allow me to get to know Valerie. I had already spoken to her online for a while and then it was her dad who invited me to come out. We began liking each other...then...as God would have it...we fell in love.
When I went out to North Carolina and we met in person...things only escalated. Listen up singles. I’ve been waiting and praying for over 3 years. Not willing to take a step without His will. I actually prayed about meeting her...we’d been talking online but then she lived thousands of miles away. I asked the Lord “How can I be with her?” And that day I was invited to come out to North Carolina by her father to speak at their church’s event called “Youth Week.”
So we met in person. Spent good quality time together. And you know what? We spent time in prayer, in the Word, and we talked, and we joked, and it was great. I was able to be myself 100% of the time. Note this...don’t ever think it’s ok that you’re fake around somebody...especially if this is a person in which you are considering for marriage. It is very sacred and God has somebody for you. I’m just still in shock that He’s now putting this all together before my eyes.
I say all that to say this. Pray. For God’s will for me and for you. He’s bringing me into a new season of life. I’ve not been able to do the Daily Scripture for some time...I’ve had microphone issues and then I’ve been out of town...but I will be more diligent to continue. I’ve also been really busy and not been able to complete episodes as often as I’d like. Please pray because I do want to be serious about this stewardship.
Pray for Valerie and I for the timing of our wedding and where we shall live. Pray that God would work it all out.
Thank you so much.
In Christ,
Jason Vreeke
P.S. When you call on Jesus, all things are possible.
